Who we are. Everyday Sage (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is an editorial and informational website owned and operated by Jennifer Scavina. Contact: info@everydaysage.com.
Scope. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information in connection with www.everydaysage.com (the “Site”). If we ever launch newsletters, accounts, or shops, we’ll update this Policy to cover those features.
1) Information we collect
Information you provide: emails you send us, form submissions, or feedback.
Automatic data: basic device and usage information your browser sends (IP address, device type, pages viewed, timestamps, and referral URLs). Our Squarespace host may also log similar data to operate and secure the Site.
Cookies & similar technologies: we use strictly necessary cookies to make the Site work (e.g., load balancing, security). We do not use advertising cookies. If we enable optional analytics in the future, we’ll update this Policy and provide additional controls.
No sensitive categories: we do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information.
Children: the Site is not directed to children under 13; we do not knowingly collect their data.
2) How we use information
Provide, maintain, and secure the Site.
Communicate with you when you contact us.
Diagnose issues, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve reliability.
Comply with the law and enforce our Terms.
3) Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we process personal data based on:
Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) to keep the Site functional and secure.
Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) when we respond to your requests.
Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) only if we later introduce optional analytics or similar non‑essential features in the EEA/UK; we would ask for it at that time.
4) Sharing of information
We share information with:
Service providers/Processors that help operate the Site (e.g., hosting via Squarespace). They may access limited data under contracts that restrict use to our instructions.
Legal compliance and safety: to comply with the law, protect rights, or prevent harm. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross‑context behavioral advertising.
5) Cookies and tracking
What we use now: strictly necessary, first‑party cookies required to deliver pages securely and reliably. These do not require consent banners in most jurisdictions.
Browser controls: you can set your browser to block or delete cookies. Doing so may affect site performance.
Global Privacy Control (GPC): we honor GPC signals as a request to opt out of non‑essential tracking where applicable.
If analytics are introduced later: we’ll provide clear information and controls appropriate to your location (for example, opt‑in in the EEA/UK).
6) Data retention
We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required by law (e.g., security logs).
7) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of data we handle. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to protect against unauthorized access and misuse.
8) Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object or restrict certain processing. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, and the EEA/UK have specific rights under their laws. To exercise any rights, contact info@everydaysage.com. We will verify your request and respond as required by law. Authorized agents may act for California residents with appropriate documentation.
9) International data transfers
We are based in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, or processed in the U.S., where laws may differ. We rely on appropriate safeguards where required.
10) Third‑party links
The Site may link to third‑party websites or services. Their privacy practices and content are governed by their own policies.
11) Changes to this Policy
If we make material changes, we’ll post the updated Policy and change the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
12) Contact
